Who We Are

Since we were founded in 2019, Homeless Empowerment Action Team (HEAT) has become an important part of the Denison community. We work with the most dedicated and charitable people to help ease the suffering of those we work with.
Homelessness could impact any of us, at any time. But by the grace of God, we could be on the streets in an unforeseen calamity. HEAT wants to help those who want help, love those who need love, and be God's hands and feet to the "least of these".

Denison offers so many excellent programs to help with food, shelter, and other basic needs. However, duplicated services, location, and the focus on parts instead of the whole person have yielded our community in need of a better solution. HEAT desires to see a centralized service location specifically for the homeless in our community that will address the whole person by loving and empowering them to greater things. We also seek humane housing options for various levels of need and ability as they progress.
