Statement of Faith

As part of our mission to base our activities on the foundations of Biblical teaching, HEAT has adopted the following Statement of Faith to clarify to members, patrons, and partners what our organization stands for.

We stand on our belief and trust God to show us how to lead well as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We will always serve, and serve with, all people knowing all people are God’s beautiful creation (John 3:16).

1. We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, which equips all saints in spiritual teaching, faith, and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
   
   

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7-8)
   
   

3. We believe that man was created in the image of God, holy and innocent, but in his fallen state is in need of salvation. (Genesis 1-3, Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 1:18, 32)
   
   

4. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His imminent return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:31-35; Isaiah 53:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Titus 2:13)
   
   

5. We believe that we are saved by grace through faith, apart from works, that the sinner who repents and personally accepts the finished work of Christ on the Cross becomes a child of God, is made a new creature, and is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 3:10-25, 5:10-19, 6:23)
   
   

6. We believe that God alone holds the power to set us free from the bondage of sin, addictions, and compulsions, and the indwelling Holy Spirit that enables the children of God to live a godly life. (John 1:12, Romans 13:13)
   
   

7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (John 5:28-29)
   
   

8. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again for His church, to establish His Kingdom on earth, to judge the wicked and to dwell with the saints of God forever. (John 14:1-6, I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
   
   

9. We believe marriage is a holy matrimony ordained by God between a man and a woman. (Genesis 2:22-24, Mark 10:1-12, Matthew 5:27-32)
   
   

10. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-3)

We believe that through serving, teaching and loving well, the ministry of HEAT must use all of its resources and activities to invite people to the power of the Gospel that they may have victory over sin, come into fellowship with God and live a Spirit filled, fruitful life.
